Here’s a quick Thursday tip for folks using Dragon Dictate for Mac:

The Commands window is your interface for management of global and application-based commands. This is where commands may be edited – modified, created, activated and deactivated, and deleted. To open the Commands window: choose Tools, Commands, File, New Command. This is the same as choosing Tools, Commands and then pressing the + button to create a new command.

We all forget things from time to time. The good news – if you are dictating with Dragon and you realize that you forgot to say something, it’s easy to add text in the middle of a paragraph. Peter “The Dictator” Mahoney shows us how in this episode of Ask the Dictator. (Note – this works with Dragon on the PC or the Mac!)

Happy Monday! In case you haven’t heard, we’re introducing a couple of exciting new things this morning – Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11.5 and our new Dragon Remote Mic app! You can get all of the details here, but check out what Peter “The Dictator” Mahoney has to say about the news below. (*Bonus: a special episode of Ask the Dictator is at the end…)

I’ve really enjoyed working with Dragon 11.5 over the last couple of months as we finished up the development of this great new product. In fact, I’m sitting back, dictating this blog post into my Dragon Remote Mic app with my feet on the desk.

Viewers of my Ask the Dictator video series may have seen me using a handheld mic for some of the Dragon demos. I’m the kind of Dragon user who likes to be able to pick up the microphone at a moment’s notice and start speaking to my computer. I like the freedom of being able to use Dragon without putting on a headset. With the new Dragon Remote Mic app, I can use Dragon with the same kind of freedom that I am used to – except better. It’s better because I don’t have to be connected to my computer with wires. It’s also better because I have my mic with me all the time – because I carry my iPhone with me all the time.

I guess you could say it’s like having freedom of speech (OK – maybe it’s not really like having freedom of speech, but you get the idea…)

Speaking of freedom of speech – and speaking your mind, Dragon 11.5 also helps you get your words out in the social web with new commands for Facebook and Twitter. I’ve found that I’m more likely to make a comment on my Twitter feed these days now that it is so easy for me to use my voice for tweeting. I’m not sure if more tweeting from me is a good thing, but feel free to listen in to my feed and let me know what you think.
